I need a swift kick up the arse!

Since I got back from my holiday to Provence in the south France over two months ago I have been unable to get back into the healthy lifestyle I was in before I went. I used to have a green smoothie every day, I rarely ate bread or processed foods, filled up on vegetables and if I wanted something sweet I ate some fruit. I drank water and green tea and took a concoction of supplements, I went to the gym, A LOT, I enjoyed my classes and I looked forward to going to them.

At first I blamed France and the two weeks of wine, bread, cheese, cake and all the foodie loveliness I had eaten while there. Here are some examples…

I have also blamed the perimenopause of which I am in full swing but any symptoms are eased when I excercise and eat healthy and are worse when I’m being unhealthy! I also blame working late and being tired for not cooking and eating crap.

They are just excuses to ease my mind and take the blame away from me but I know that I only have myself to blame.

I have tried to be good, I really have, and I have been going to the gym as much as I can and I got an allotment two months ago and so have been doing a lot of digging. Alas I have just used this as an excuse to eat more, not more of the healthy stuff but more of the crap! I’m also not enjoying my gym classes as much at the moment and I don’t know why but is probably why I don’t feel the slightest bit guilty if I miss a session. Plus I still haven’t started the ‘couch to 5k’ I wrote about a month ago and I am very frustrated with myself. I tell myself on a regular basis that tomorrow will be the day that I start being healthy again but tomorrow comes and goes and any effort I do make is soon gone. The mad thing is I much prefer healthy food to the crap, I love salad and all veggies (hence the allotment) but I have eaten fewer salads this summer than I did last winter.

And so I am here to say ‘tomorrow I am going to start again’. I intend to get up early and start my day with lemon water and a quick yoga session to wake me up, then I will go to the gym and do a Bodypump class when I get home I will make a green smoothie. As I don’t have work tomorrow I will prepare some meals for the week ahead so I’m not tempted by the crap when I get in late on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. I will also prepare lunch to take with me on the days I’m working. I am going to Zumba and Pilates on Tuesday night but will miss yoga on Wednesday and Zumba on Thursday as I’m working late both nights but instead of coming in and flopping in front of the telly I’m going to do a yoga session of my own and maybe Thursday will be the night I start the ‘couch to 5k’. On Friday I will go to Bodybalnce in the morning then my mum is coming to stay for a couple of days as I am graduating on Saturday and on Sunday I will take her home and visit my dad and nan while I’m there so the weekend will have to be non-exercise days.

Hopefully in a week or two and I’ll be back in the swing of it all.

So there you go…

Bob’s your uncle, Fanny’s your aunt, a whole week of being healthy!

Wish me luck 🙂
